A Biwa Pearl in a soft trapezoidal shape with prettiest luster, Captured in a 14k gold ring.

Cultured Biwa pearls at one time were plentiful, but due to industrial pollution in Biwa Lake in Japan, the freshwater pearl industry there ceased decades ago. True Biwa pearls are hard to come by these days, and this one here is from a collection that entered the US about 50 years ago and was bought in a parcel at an auction back in the day.
