About the stone: Carnelian
Carnelian is a chalcedony saturated with iron oxide, glowing ember orange to oxblood red. Romans favored it for signet rings because hot wax will not stick to it; empires were sealed with carnelian. One of the oldest gems in continuous use, from Mesopotamian beads to now. Warm against the skin and warmer in low light.
