Rings

Are your rings sizable?

It depends on the design. The Plique Eternity and Dot Rings are not sizable. Spin Rings can be ordered to size, and can be resized for a $50 fee. Captured Rings are usually one-of-a-kind and can be resized for $40. All Captured Rings are made within sizes 7-8, which are the most common ring sizes.

How do I find out my ring size?

There are several ways. You can purchase ring sizers very affordably from Amazon. You can also purchase a simple ring sizer from Hilary Finck Jewelry here. You can also go to your local jewelry store and have your finger sized. If sizing it yourself at home, make sure to get several size measurements at different times of day for a few different days since fingers slightly change size throughout the day and in different temperatures.

Can I return a ring that doesn’t fit?

First of all, make sure you ordered your correct ring size. Second, it depends. Custom rings cannot be returned unless the size is clearly not the size that was ordered. Depending on the type of ring, it may be able to be resized. Plique Eternity and Dot Rings and Spin Rings can be returned with a store credit within 10 days of receipt.

Returns

What is your return policy?

Please contact Hilary immediately if you feel there is a problem with your order. If you find that a piece is defective, all items are subject to a strict 10-day return policy and must be in new condition with the original packaging.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. The buyer is responsible for securely shipping the item along with the original packaging, including insurance and tracking for the total cost of the item(s). Hilary cannot offer refunds for any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts due to actions of the buyer, or items returned more than 10 days after receipt.

Can I return a custom order?

Sorry, custom orders are not able to be returned.

I purchased an HFJ piece from a store/gallery. What is your return/exchange policy?

Products purchased through retailers must be returned or exchanged to the retailer and are subject to the retailer’s individual store policy.

Repairs

I love my necklace but the chain broke. Can you repair it?

Yes, please contact Hilary to make arrangements for a new chain. Pricing will depend upon the type of chain.

Do you repair jewelry made by another artist?

Sorry, I do not.

I lost one of my earrings. Can you replace it?

It depends. If it is one-of-a-kind then unfortunately, no. However, sometimes earrings can be turned into pendants. Contact Hilary if you’d like more information about this. If the item is part of a small or limited production, yes, most likely. Hilary will charge half of the current price for the earrings. Note that with metal prices changing, earrings made three years ago have probably gone up in price.

My oxidized (black) rings have faded. Can you re-patina them?

Yes, Hilary offers free re-oxidation for the lifetime of your piece. Please contact Hilary to make arrangements.

My ear wire/post broke/fell off. Can you replace it?

Yes. If it was determined to be defective, Hilary will replace it at no charge. Otherwise, replacing will be charged depending upon the complexity of the piece. Please contact Hilary.

I lost the metal ear backs to my post earrings. Can I get another pair?

Yes, a pair of silver is $2 and a pair of gold will be charged according to the price listed at the time of Hilary’s purchase.

My jewelry isn’t as shiny or the matte finish has brightened. What should I do?

Hilary offers free jewelry cleaning/refinishing. Please contact Hilary to make arrangements.

My jewelry tarnished rather quickly. What should I do?

Best practice is to always store your sterling silver jewelry in a bag or box. Do not keep your jewelry in places with high humidity, like the bathroom, since high-humidity tends to make jewelry tarnish more easily.

Can I swim in the ocean or a pool while wearing my jewelry?

It is not recommended to swim in your HFJ. Chlorine and salt water can damage the metal, change the patina, and damage certain stones. Plus, rings and other pieces can fall off more easily in water.

Can I sleep in my jewelry?

It is not recommended, but do so at your own discretion.

Materials

Is all of the metal you use recycled?

As much as possible. All sheet, wire, and tubing stock are recycled. Findings such as ear posts and nuts, chains, and clasps are made from recycled metals whenever possible. Hilary will always purchase a recycled metal product over non-recycled whenever possible.

Are the diamonds you use ethically sourced, conflict free diamonds?

Yes, Hilary will not use diamonds unless they are certified conflict free (Kimberly Process) by the gem dealer. 

Orders

Can I change my online order once it’s been placed?

Once the order is received, Hilary will start processing your order right away. Please contact Hilary immediately to make any changes. If you let Hilary know ASAP, she will do her best to accommodate your request.

Can I update the shipping address on my order?

Please contact Hilary immediately. You will receive an email back to confirm the change. There shouldn’t be a problem as long as Hilary is notified immediately.  

How long will it take me to receive my order?

Ready to Ship items will ship in one or two business days. Made-to-order pieces will take 2-4 weeks depending upon the style and complexity of the piece. Hilary will ship either USPS First Class (3-7 business days in US) or USPS Priority (2-3 days in US). International orders will take longer to receive. 

What if I’m purchasing as a gift?

Hilary will hand-write a note with the wording of your choice. Make sure to include that gift message at checkout. All pieces of jewelry are wrapped beautifully and will arrive looking great for gifts!

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, you can purchase gift cards here. Once you purchase this digital gift card, you will receive a unique code. The gift card recipient can enter this code at checkout to subtract the gift card value from their order total. You can provide this code to the recipient, or Hilary can write it in a gift card and mail it to the recipient. Please make sure to write the gift card message in the box at checkout if you would like Hilary to mail the card for you.

Shipping

What shipping provider do you use?

Hilary uses the US Postal Service First Class, Priority, and Express Insured Mail.

What service is used with free shipping?

Hilary uses USPS First Class for free shipping. All orders over $200 are eligible for free shipping. All orders over $200 will be insured.

Is my package insured?

All orders over $200 are insured for the full value of the item. Please make sure that your order is shipped to a secure location. Hilary is not responsible for lost or stolen packages.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes, when checking out, there will be an option for expedited shipping via USPS Express Insured Mail. This service is guaranteed to ship within 2 business days to all 50 states excluding Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. Please note: Hilary is unable to ship on holidays or days that the post office is closed, and cannot be responsible for delays in the mail stream. If your order is needed by a special occasion, please place the order at least 5 business days before the date needed.

International Shipping

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, international orders ship via USPS First Class or Priority Mail. Most international orders will arrive within 3-4 weeks once the package is shipped. Please note that Hilary cannot guarantee a specific delivery date.

Is my international order trackable?

Most international orders include tracking information, however it is not updated as regularly as domestic packages. There is no guarantee that international tracking will remain up-to-date as the package travels to your destination.

Am I responsible for paying customs fees when my order arrives?

Yes. Customs and import duties vary from country to country and are the buyer’s responsibility.
