Captured Biwa Pearl Charm
A Biwa Pearl with the prettiest luster, Captured in a 14k setting. A reversible necklace ⎼ you choose your favorite side.
Cultured Biwa pearls at one time were plentiful, but due to industrial pollution in Biwa Lake in Japan, the freshwater pearl industry there ceased decades ago. True Biwa pearls are hard to come by these days, and this one here is from a collection that entered the US about 50 years ago and was bought in a parcel at an auction back in the day.
For collectors who prefer flexibility when buying pieces priced $2500 and up, arrangements for 2-4 payment installments are available. Contact Hilary to discuss options.

Care
Chemicals and all acids can damage pearls, including hair spray, perfume, cosmetics, and even perspiration.
Pearls should never be cleaned in an ultrasonic or steam cleaner. It’s safe to use warm, soapy water for occasional, thorough cleaning. If the pearls are strung, be sure the string is completely dry before wearing.
For routine care, it’s best to wipe cultured pearls with a very soft, clean cloth after each wearing.
